When will people realize that HPV is not something to be ashamed about? Having HPV does not mean that you have warts or will get cancer. People don't realize that there are, what, 60-70 types of HPV at last count and only a few cause symptoms. In many cases, your body flushes the virus at some point. I think that article underestimates the number of people infected, too. Only 50%? I think it might be higher. It's definitely higher if you add an age range, say 18-25. Hell, I'm sure I have it or have had it or will have it. It's the STI/STD equivalent of mono.
Just noticed that there was an age range in the article (18-22). Think I misread. According to everything else I've read and what I've been told by my doctor, it's actually higher. Then again, since many people's bodies flush the virus, it's hard to tell at times who has it and who doesn't. And who has had it & c.
I have an idea. All the repressed people can stop having sex, RIGHT NOW. They'll stop having kids, and therefore won't be a big voice in education. Then, within three generations, they'll all be gone. Yay!
I was writing a story about a guy that's sitting on the cure for HIV but has a hard time getting funding because people dragging their heels on anything to do with STDs like that. I dropped it because I thought it was a stupid idea and unbelievable. Everyone would love a cure for HIV!
I hate to see that his problem is entirely plausible.
not quite half-sibs mom. worse. the girl he left me for when i was pregnant with seth. ^_^. of, and i think it was uterine cance, she had to have a hysterectomy. made eric mad that they couldn't have kids, lol. OH, did you know seth has a one year old little brother...Nicholas, marianne's kid. and Lannie's birthday just passed, she's 7 now.
