Sometimes (often) I have dirt on my hands. It's not too visible unless I wash my hands, but then you can see gray suds. Icky. But I can feel the dirt. And once I do, I have to wash my hands. It'd be better if it were some sort of OCD thing, so I could say "there's no dirt there". But there is dirt there, and once I realize it, hands must be washed now. *grumbles*

On the up side, when I'm done I know my hands are clean, not merely washed. Course, I wish this super-sense extended to my hair. I'm likely to forget that it needs to be washed until it's been a week, at which point it's all oily and greasy and stringy and all.

You don't wash your hair everyday in the shower?

Ah, see I feel kind of gross if I go for more than a day without a shower. And my hair's really oily, so it's a real mess if I don't wash it everyday.

I used to not really be good about hygeine stuff when I was a kid, but as an adult I don't feel like my day's really "started" unless I've had a shower. I guess it's a mindset thing.

I've tried using conditioner everyday, and that made my hair icky too, though using it every other day worked fine. Now I never bother, though I probably should.

ditto, except that I take baths now, because I often have trouble standing up through a shower.

I do, however, wash my hands every morning, since I wash after every time I go to the bathroom, and tend to do so first thing in the morning. Then I generally wash my face.

I also wash my hands before cooking, if I'm cooking. But I don't generally cook. And if it's something that doesn't involve cooking the food, I might not bother.

I also wash my hands after playing with the cats and stopping being lazy. That is, I know I should directly after, but I don't. But eventually the allergy gets to me enough to motivate me.

Your pointless Leora hygeine update. :)

Me too. I feel so gross if I don't shower every morning. SOmetimes in the summer I shower 2 or 3 times a day and I usually have a bath most nights before bed. If I don't wash my hair every day it feels so greasy I can't stand it. I tend to sweat a lot and feel too hot the majority of the time. My hubby says he feels like he's sleeping next to a blast furnace!

I would say it does that if you do something like wash with dish soap, or a shampoo for oily hair, but I've been ok with my hair, it used to be oily but now it's just normal, regular, happy, healthy hair. (Ok, it's getting a little grey but I can handle that.)

If I washed it in conditioner, it would be greasy and flat -- I have baby fine hair and even a little bit of oil makes it limp.

And as for showers and all that, I need them in the morning or I just feel greasy and icky all over. Sad thing is I sometimes get eczema and hot showers/baths are bad for it, and I love bathing in hothot water.

I bathe twice a year, whether I need it or not.

Not a clue. Though, now that you mention it, that sounds about right. I first heard the expression from a co-worker, ages ago, though the actual time-frame was "once a month." I think my hyperbole gland is acting up this week. But I imagine the "twice a year" would fit the early Elizabethan context a bit better.

Sorry to be anticlimactic. Complete sentences alone are a tall order at the moment.

I can relate to both of those situations. Happens to me often enough.
