Did you consider at all that it may be a hoax? I only ask because a bit of checking on Tulsa news websites didn't pull any references, at least not that I saw, and same with my limited checking of Amber Alerts.

thank you, conuly. for those who don't know, i just want people to realize that a child is never too old to get snatched, but once they hit 16, they're no longer considered a snatchable child in the eyes of the law.... they're just runaways or "missing".

thank you

I'm sorry if that offended you, it was not intended to. However, many people on the internet do indeed play out elaborate hoaxes, which puts us all in the unfortunate situation of having to question everything. I did consider the fact that she is 16, but I also saw an Amber Alert for a 16-year-old, so I don't know what the difference would be. Perhaps it is a state thing.

you don't know me, i don't know you... no reason to take offense. i'd considered the possibility that someone may think it a hoax long before i posted.

i just hope that she's okay and someone sees her, recognizes her, and tells her to go home (after calling the police). that is my greatest hope. my fears... well... those are in my dreams, and i'm trying to keep them there.

in the state of oklahoma, the age of consent is 16. when a child comes up missing that is 16 or over, it's automatically filed as a runaway report for that reason. in the eyes of the law, they have the choice to get in the vehicle or fight. extenuating circumstances during the investigation can change the type of report, but that comes later. at this time, she's "missing/possible abduction/possibly in danger.
