Something I found out when I decided I'd kindasortamaybe track down my IEP....

Gifted kids are supposed to get IEPs. Kids with behavioural problems are supposed to get IEPs. Kids with learning disabilites are supposed to get IEPs. Really, as near as I can tell, any kid in any sort of special program is supposed to get an IEP.

Now you know. This has been a public service announcement.

If I ever get off my ass and find it, I'll post interesting tidbits from my IEP, but don't hold your breath.

Yes both gifted kids and kids with issues are supposed to have IEP's not all do. Alot of people with gifted kids are totally unaware of the process. Also IEP's are a fairly recient invention here where I am. Recient as in they've probably only been around maybe 20 yrs. I never had an IEP. Even though I'm in school as a special needs and gifted student again I have no IEP. I may in tech school later. My sons had IEP's even in preschool as he's special needs and my nephew and neice have had them for gifted kids. The school officials may suggest an IEP these days if a kid gets skipped up a grade but years ago they didn't do it. Though they would have a meeting with parents offering to give the child more challanging material than their peers. Oh and my daughter had an IEP(but only after cancer treatment because it caused visual and motor imparement and LD)

So anyways... are you talking about a current IEP for school or one of your prior ones? If you have one at all they should review every 3-6 months and have a year start and ending meeting. At least that is the experience with my sons IEP's. I have no personal experience because as mentioned I've never had one.(it wasn't done in the 70s and 80s. Also doesn't seem to be done for correspondence school)

No. I'm having muscle problems. My myotonia went wacky in my upper body. Also I either have food poisioning or the flu add on someone attacked my website.(They spammed a memorial book and also tried other things)
