Just put Ana down for her nap.
Mar. 14th, 2005 10:36 amThat kid is good at conning "one last book" out of me. Several times. Probably because I bought her most of her books, and I want her to be a reader when she gets older, which means starting now. And I don't want to discourage her from reading (though that'd be hard to do, considering that "reading" a book is one of her favorite pastimes). Though on the other hand, making her beg and wheedle and be on her best behaviour for a book might just be the best way to guarantee she loves it.
I read this CNN article today, a mom said that her son can watch half an hour of TV if he reads for half an hour. My jaw just dropped. This is the most counterproductive thing I've ever heard in my life, and stupid too! She's teaching her kid that TV is better than books, and that books are something he has to suffer through in order to get a reward. Great lesson, mom. *dramatic eyeroll*
And Ana learned the monkey song. The one where you jump on the bed for a while, then fall over and (hopefully) get tickled? *huggles her anababy*
