It's the name poll!

Abdul has a relative, an uncle or something, named Cupid. Every time I hear this, I remember the guy I knew at PS 188 named Eros.

So...

Which is worse? Cupid-rhymes-with-stupid or Eros-rhymes-with-gross? Or the classic Jeremy-sounds-like-germy?

I think the rhymes are both about the same, but Cupid is worse just for the association with Valentine's Day. I think you'd get a lot more people making fun of Cupid than of Eros.

I know. But most people don't connect Eros with Valentine's Day. Cupid is much more commonly used.

But Eros in English refers to a certain type of love. Yes, that'd be erotic love.

Hm. Eros was a geeky kid with big ears. And we were all in the oh-so-knowledgeable gifted classes. That might be affecting my judgment.
