It just completely slipped under our radar.

Maybe the good movies are getting less hype now or something. "If you build it, they will come" type mentality. I mean, we're three months away from the final Star Wars, and I've heard basically nothing about it in the media.

June 6th in the US I'm afraid ;0)

*Pats her country*

And I will join the scores of people who can't believe you don't know about this *nods*

*Waits impatiently for amazon.com trailer to load*

Hmm, interesting interpretation of the Zaphod head/arm problem. I'll rfeserve full judgement until I see it properly. Martin Freeman sounds a bit odd, but I suppose that's him doing that acting thing ;0) (I wish it had been made whilst Hugh Laurie was lined up to play Arthur.) Ford sounds American, which is just wrong. Still, looks like fun.

I knew about it...

I think it's been mentioned on [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes several times. *shrugs*

I can't imagine. I have seen the trailer for this movie about 4 times already in the last couple of months. I saw it before "Closer", most recently. Maybe before "Finding Neverland"? *tries to remember recent movies attended*

I can't recall. Whatever movies we took the kids to over the Christmas break, I am sure.

I can understand having missed it if one hadn't been to a movie lately, as I have not seen any TV advertising for it... but plenty of in-theatre trailers!

I hope it got the treatment it deserved. I am so looking forward to it. :-)

What, you missed the furious little fan-wank when they cast a black man as Ford Prefect? It was the strangest thing I've ever seen. "But the book doesn't SAAAAAAY he's black! IT'S NOT RIGHT HE SHOULD BE WHITE! Oh, and I'm not racist."

My theater has had trailers for that for months, but we all agree that they're so unobtrusive that all off us (people who work there and have all 12 on the loop MEMORIZED we see them that often) completely missed it.

We didn't realise until a few weeks ago that hey....is that....OMFG IT IS.

Don't know - I've been squeeing over the prospect on occasion.
(Oh, and there's an even shinier trailer on amazon.com - has actual people in.)

Here be the link to the trailer

Martin Freeman is exactly how I imagine Arthur Dent to look. Some of the acting is a bit iffy in the the trailer but should be worth a look anyway. Great book.
