Our Women's Studies prof didn't show up. At all. This is *after* she gives me a lecture about how Attendance Is A Very Important Part Of This Class. Yes, even the little words were capitalized. So after 25 minutes or so, we left, leaving a note about how the "15 minute rule is in effect". Actually, I'm not so sure that BC has a 15 minute rule, but whatever.

Well, I have several hours to kill. Yay. Hey, question. How can I tell if my computer has wireless internet capabilities? I asked this before and forgot the answer....

*feels silly*

you can check it by going to your Network Connections (in Control Panel) and looking to see if you have Wireless Connection icon, if you do, then you have the card (i think), you can always try to enable it and it should either give you a connection somewhere if one is available or say was unable to connect, but if the thing just gives you some error then you dont have a wireless card.

This is mostly a guess :)

Man do i feel smart now, i guess all those hours making friends do my networking stuff finally paid off.

Pshaw. If the class agrees on the 15 minute rule, then it exists. Profs, in general, are not going to acknowledge its existance.

My loverly prof (whom I seriously love, despite this story) is always making a big deal about being on time. When we had a meeting before going to Italy, he made a big deal about how we needed to be ON TIME, because we had LOTS to discuss. He was then 20 minutes late or somesuch. ::snerk:: For a while, I thought maybe he'd improved since the semester I'd had him, but noooo. He loves pulling, "I'm the prof! I can be late!" on us. heh. But he's really much cooler than that and is perfectly aware he's being hypocritical and jokes about it anyway. ;-)

And really, if your prof can't deal with it, then that's *her* problem. You can't let the morons of the world give you shit like that. ;-)

Do you have a laptop or desktop? If it's a desktop, you almost certainly don't have wireless. If it's a laptop, then yeah you can trying looking to see if "Wireless Network Connection" is listed -- go to control panel, click on "Network Connections"
