This is a horrible book. This book will scare children to death. They will be afraid of being kidnapped from their bed as they sleep and be eaten by giants. There is no redeeming quility about this book. Any one who likes it is not thinking about whats best for children.
I liked it when I was a kid. I wasn't scared to death, nor was I afraid of being kidnapped from my bed as I slept. I was 8 when I first read it.
Matilda
I find it hard to believe an acclaimed author would promote disrespect, mental abuse of children, physical abuse of children, revenge, and poor language. I found the book to provide a very NEGATIVE outlook on life and not the least bit entertaining.
Just because something HAPPENS in a book doesn't mean that the author PROMOTES it.
This book was terrible! There was no suspense at the end of the chapters, the ending came too quickly and made little sense, and the telepathic powers were inplausible and unbelieveable. Roald Dahl bombed this time
So, you like the witches, and you like the giants, but the telepathy, that's just not cutting it.
I'm ending this here, I have GOT to stop reading the reviews.
