Except that it's not, and this just shows that you haven't been paying attention in class. Besides, even if that were the summation of the theory of evolution, that still wouldn't make a whit of difference. We don't teach that "well, maybe slavery was okay" because white Southern students might be offended, do we? So what's the difference?

Time as we know it(minutes, hours, etc.) is a human construct. Why are we trying to define God's notion of time for Him? I'm reasonably confident that He didn't keep time by the rate of decay of a hunk of Cessium in Boulder Colorado. I'm a Christian, I believe what is written in Genesis 1. I'm also a scientist, I believe what scientific evidence tells me. Somehow, they must both be right, I'm not overly concerned about how.
