I hate having an odd number (with a few exceptions) of comments on my entries. This effects, sometimes, whom I answer. Sorry.

And then sometimes I'm all non-caring. Why is that, anyway?

I'm the same way. I even feel uncomfortable if my comment will be an odd one, like this one will be. (So you'd better reply to it to fix the problem!) Usually I don't care when: a) the post is no longer on my friends page or at the top of my journal; or b) when I'm too tired/squicky/distracted to think of it. Distraction is probably the biggest of those. It's hard to worry about numbers when all you can think of is whether or not the stuffed dragon should go on the same shelf as the penguin figurines.

The replies to this post are odd. But this comment makes them divisible by three, which is apparently acceptable.

That depends on space on shelf, space off shelf, and aesthetics. Do they match at all?

I don't like renting movies or purchasing CD's in even numbers. It's jarring.

I dislike purchasing entertainment media in even numbers. It feels like putting on dirty underwear... just uncomfortable. I can sometimes make the exception if it's renting movies and video games... the total of the two can be even, so long as it's an odd number of movies and an odd number of videogames.

Me too. Cannot stand it. And I have a few people on my flist who always reply to my comments, and we make thousand-comment threads just because I am trying to get them to STOP COMMENTING and just let me have my pretend-OCD, please.

...No, this is not helpful. But... empathy empathy!

Really? I've always been too afraid to do that before, but assuredly sorely tempted. Some day, though...

OK. SO I will come out with my thing: I want my number of friends and number of people who have friendsd me to to be even. It bugs me when they are not even. They don't have to be *the same*, I am not seeking utter mutual-friending. I just want the same actual DIGIT there. When they changed it so that communities didn't count against one's number, that freed me to add a LOT more friends (even thought I hated the change because it was *change*, if you know what I mean). But it just really bugs me when the numbers don't match. I have no rational explanation.

Shouldn't it be "affects whom I answer?"

I just wanted to say something, to make the number of comments odd.

Also, divisible by 5 and 3. Cool, huh?
