Is this answer, which is a little strange, still good? If I don't think so, am I being too picky? What if I'm wrong? What if I make a horrible, terrible mistake and people hate me and I get rocks thrown in my windows???

Which has led to me approving only very simple answers, and not approving anybody if I answer as somebody else does. I need to stop being a wuss.
Oh, and congrats

Nice icon. Did you know that you can fry maple leaves and eat them? Apparently.

Hee, same here. Think of it as incentive to click back to the request as quickly as possible. I'm scared to use my mouse-wheel at all when approving, and keep checking that I haven't scrolled to the wrong option, but it's never happened. I did once approve while moving a request to gunk, but that was because I'd intended to approve as a styles request, and had been debating (with the one who wrote the answer) whether it was more relevant for styles or gunk.

Date: 2004-12-23 07:37 am (UTC)Also, if you make a mistake and aren't sure, email the admins and say "I'm still new and insecure-- was this the right call?" Chances are, it was.
When you get to the point where the admins say "It's not what I would have done, but it's okay," and you feel confident with that answer, then you know you're no longer insecure about approvals.
All new SH's go through this phase. Some never get past it, and instead look to other SH tasks they can pursue. Some get past it for everything except answers that they themselves post. It's all good.
