If this kind of thing continues, they may have to move Election Day up into July or so to make time for alllll the recounts and recounts and recounts before Inauguration Day.

Although I admire Kerry for the decision not to drag the States through a repeat of the mess four years ago, I REALLY wish sometimes that he hadn't simply conceded to Bush. IF by some odd chance Florida and/or Ohio and/or other "red states" happen to challenge this and find that Kerry DID technicaly become the president-elect, would he be able to take the office after concession? I know it would piss off a LOT of people (including some of the scary closed-minded warlike people) and would look rather ungraceful. Geez. It's still a mess.

Yes, he can take office after conceding, that's not a legal thing.
