I just called the number listed, and was told "that happened once. It was a fluke. A voter didn't proof his or her ballot, and the story has been circulated by e-mail."
I asked if there was any reason to pass it along, and was told "ABSOLUTELY NOT! Please don't."
As I said, it doesn't matter if it's true or not. This is a reminder to everyone to, please, make sure you did everything okay, there are no glitches or user-mistakes.
I must respectfully disagree. I think that when someone (anyone!) throws around charges like "voter fraud," as that poster did, and encourages others to go and post untruths, then it *does* matter if it's true. There are far better ways to remind people to double check their ballots.
