We do free writing every day (or, in my case, free typing). And today's subject was a bit hard for me, so as I'm typing I look out the window to think. No big deal, I *do* know how to type properly. Heck, the other day I was typing all my English work with my eyese closed because they were tearing up on me and nobody said boo. But today everybody noticed and started freaking out. It's just, hello? I'm typing here? No big deal? And I type faster than you write, so maybe you should be doing your work instead of trying to distract me?

*sighs*

I'm not rehashing the fight we later had over semantics. *le sigh*

Why were they freaking out?

Oh, that explains why me and [profile] infintysquared can do it, as we're both long-time occultists, but how did you pick up the ability?

I don't know why people think you type. I would assume a person typing in class was probably taking notes. People tell me I type fast, but I disagree, because until I can type as fast as I can talk, it's not really fast.

Right. Whenever people tell me, "wow, you type fast," I'm shocked, due to the fact that 60 WPM is pretty slow, comparitively.

Given my dexterity issues, and that rapid typing speeds seem to be not uncommon among the autistic, I have to wonder what is going on.

Well, if it helps, I can relate.

When I was living in a college dorm with a roommate, my roommate's friends would walk in asking for her. So I would turn my head to talk to them while typing and they would be astounded! Their reaction was mostly really, really annoying. Always made me think, "Yes, I can talk to you, type while not looking at the screen, and still type relatively 'fast' ('though I don't think I type that quickly) even though I'm not superhuman. Just leave me alone, please."

I'm glad I moved to a room with no roommate and a door that automatically locked when the door shut :)

I'll type what I say if I try to type and talk at the same time. I'll also say what I'm reading, if started, so the former may or may not be an autolalia/echolalia feature. (Yes, it's not a bug, it's a feature).

Haha, yay for being able to type and look out the window at the same time. I've also done that and gotten some *odd* looks. But, everyone at Avalon knows I'm a techdork, so no one says anything.

I love it, right after lunch we have a 30-minute 'journal/reading' time. Sounds elementary, I know. The great thing is I can type up a multiple page entry in 10-15 minutes or less, so that gives me 15-20 minutes to check my mail... Or, um... neopets....

I always type without looking at the screen, often because looking at the screen hurts my eyes. For example, right now as I'm typing this, I'm looking at my siblings playing nintendo across the room... lol
Though your layout isn't very hard on my eyes. But I -am- typing in a white box, so yeah...

I think I type pretty fast, though I have no idea how many words per minute I type... I'm kinda curious as to how fast I am though lol.
