I notice Mom is wearing headphones, a courtesy she didn’t feel like extending to the rest of us.

The most I'd do is regular audio, definitely not device-screen-time. I've heard hearing different languages as a kid makes them easier to pick up and become fluent(or at least "ish") in them as an adult.

One hopes that the small child being exposed so tries very hard to get their grownup to be interactive with them about the screen.

And that the grownup gets wise and chooses material that's all visual, so that's isn't very loud audio trying to compete with whatever they have on headphone.

This baby could not have been more than four months old. It didn't need a screen in its face, it needed interaction.
