We will occasionally weaponize this against her and performatively hug until she gives in and runs up for her share - only to be snagged and walked! She is certainly a ridiculous dog. Sometimes it is too clear that she knows we're baiting her, but she still can't resist.

She has another bizarre habit of shunning her dog food. This, at least, is easily explained by the fact that E will feed her "occasional" bits off her plate, but we've been trying to have her eat her dog food more often (and ideally without one of us sitting there handfeeding it to her bite by bite). So today Moonpie wanted to be fed once E fed her cat, but when the dog food was in the bowl - nothing!

As a joke, I suggested E should sit and pretend she was eating the dog food, and E played along also as a joke. Moonpie's ears perked up when she saw that, her tail wagged, and after a few agonizing seconds she launched herself over, intent on getting her fair share. At first she did give us a doubtful look, because we were obviously trying to pull something over on her, it was dog food - but then she ate the entire bowl and licked it clean.

I laughed so hard it hurt. I love our dog, I do, but she is so ridiculous, guys.
