Anyway, the less said about the election, the better. Half the people I was with this year had never worked an election before, and they all were openly (when no voters were around) anti-Trump. Some man came in to vote and told us that the last time he worked an election was 2016 and his coworkers sobbed at the end of the day.
There was no crying, but I spent a lot of time those last few hours telling one of the other workers to stop looking at the results, that the best thing was to just put the phone away until sunrise. She probably cried this morning, and so did the others. This all fucking sucks. America Defeats America
(I'm feeling slightly less murderously angry, btw. Still angry, but on a normal level.)
Edit: OMG, the audiodrama newsletter I just opened up starts off with a link to a crisis hotline. I don't think they've always done that!
