W00t!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sep. 30th, 2004 12:13 amIt's my (livejournal's) anniversary party! Yay! *dances* Okay, guys, start celebrating and commenting and everything. I want a comment from each and every one of you, which means I should have...
199 comments! (at least)
Yes, that's right, I've now got 199 mutual friends (two of whom are me). Now, I know some people have to be reading this and not my friend - please, friend me. I'm begging. I hate the number 199. It's just oh-so-close to 200. You can add me and then delete me tomorrow, it'd just be cool to have 200 friends on my first anniversary.
And I made a serious tactical error today and ate a slice of pizza. TWO slices of pizza. My stomach is killing me. Years, my mom took, so that I could at least digest dairy products, and I undid it in one swell foop by not having any for (about) a month to see if casein affected me badly. Well, it didn't affect me nearly as badly as lactose now does. Gah.
Really, what I ought to do is go practically and build up a tolerance slowly. Or just quit it with the cheese. But no, what do I do? Eat a quarter of a pizza!
So, go on. Celebrate! Comment! Give me dairy-free recipes I can cook!

Date: 2004-09-30 04:06 am (UTC)...but most of them have milk in it. doh.
oh! I know! tasty southren food:
need: Flour, oil, Tomato Paste (a little biddy can) (NOT SAUCE.), 1 onion, 1 stalk-thingie of green onion, saly, pepper, shrimp (or any other meat, if you do so want to sully the tasty), and cooked rice. Cast Iron Skillet prefered, but not neccesary.
RUE: Put about a handful of flour in a not-hot Cast-Iron skillet, or equivalent . put enough oil so that it's the texture of grainy toothpaste. Heat the rue, Stirring CONSTANTLY until it is almost burnt (that is, brown.). Salt and pepper and Tony Chacheries (or any other 'cajun spice' to taste, as long as it's spicy.
You can save the rue separately, and freeze it and gunk. it's the base for many recipes. many southren ones, at least.
Take a can of tomato PASTE, and mix 2/3 of it into the rue. (if you have a big can, roughly the size of a golfball. enough to make it orange) Put in diced up onions and Green onions untill it smells so good you can barely not eat it.
Then, mix with water untill it is a creamy, thick sauce,. Mix Shrimp in now. Heat up. MmmMmm good.
Serve over rice, hot. If you messed up on the rue, that's ok.
enjoy.
yay.
happy anniversary thingie whatsisdoodle.

And I think ditching the dairy altogether is the best way to go, but of course I would think that. :)

I'm not a master debater, though. I just rarely have any competition.

Date: 2004-09-30 05:25 pm (UTC)I really don't know many non-dairy recipes... You could try substituting soy milk in place of milk in recipes... I don't know about the cheese though, sorry :(
I'd stay longer to help celebrate but I can't put off this essay any longer than I already have...
