From the Paws at Peace vet. Handwritten. I genuinely had no expectations here, but I guess I should have? Next pet down (years off, knock on wood) I may ask them not to follow up.

Oh, it is! But a bit overwhelming if you weren't anticipating it.

I think I really am going to write to the hospital, though. All we got from them was a drawn out argument about how to spell Mommy's name on the death certificate. They could've at least handed us a packet about their bereavement services.

The vet that I go to sends (or used to) a china plaque with a poem and the cat's name on it when you use their euthanasia or cremation services. After that happened once, I knew to request they not do so for future cats. I appreciated the thought, but it was another damned tchotchke in the house, and I felt bad about tossing it (but did, eventually).
