Seriously, these things NEVER get cleaned. I spend way too much time: opening the mouse, defluffing it, cleaning the mouse ball, cleaning the damn SCROLLWHEEL because it's covered with compacted skin cells, oil, and dirt...
*shudders*
What's worse, they glued some of the meeses shut, so eventually they get to where they barely work anymore because there's no room for the mouse ball to move. At least, I assume that's the reason. Why they didn't just switch to laser meeses when that one mouse ball was stolen, I don't know.

Date: 2004-09-27 04:46 pm (UTC)In the end I think they use ball mice soon because of false economy. The ball mouse is cheaper than the optical mouse. So they keep the ball mice.
I am forever cleaning ball mice... i sit at someone else's computer and i have to rip open the mouse inside of five minutes.
