That's odd-- I live in one of Florida's biggest cities (if not THE biggest) and I haven't heard about this. If it's true I'm totally blown away, but... just call me a skeptic... (and mind you, I can't abide by Bush so I'm not "that's just a fawking Gore supporter!") I've worked with journalists for too long to not be suspicious.
'course, Miami's also pretty much its own state so we're fairly isolated. What with our own idiots. *sigh*
Hmm-- that was also just the time I was getting into politics, so I hadn't been paying much attention. It's just my habit of taking everything with a grain of salt.
But as our voting system is so screwed up, it really wouldn't surprise me (the more I think about it). I wonder if there was an underlying "keep them rafters" motive. There's a lot of that, but most of "those dirty rafters" are concentrated where I live (and according to most of America, I'm one of them).
