Watching Lower Decks (twice) has reminded me how much I love a good Star Trek theme

And by "good" I mean "the inspiration is obviously Fanfare for the Common Man".

But there are other opinions. It's almost Dreamwidth Points Sale Month, so I may as well make a poll, get my money's worth out of this year's paid account!

TNG is pretty epic, probably because it was the theme from the TOS movies.

That might explain why I don't like it as much as the DS9 and Voyager themes.

I second this. Also, got to say that the end credits theme for season 3 of Picard is lovely (combo of the main theme from the First Contact film and the TNG theme).

I'd've had to work a lot harder in my call. It would've been that or the one I did choose, Lower Decks, and I'm honestly not sure which.

(As much as I love Discovery and applaud them going really atypical places with their theme, I'm still not as much into it.)

You know, I can't believe that this is the world we're in, but there is officially Too Much Trek to keep track of.

I have exactly zero knowledge of everything since the second trilogy and I intend to keep it that way.

While I thought Rogue One was repetitive (people call it the best of all the films, if not just the best since the original trilogy), The Andor miniseries that is a prequel to Rogue One is essential watching! Don't sleep on it! :) You can skip the rest though.

Andor is outstanding. But so is the first series of The Mandalorian.

(The rest is still very good, and to my mind very much worth watching, but skip the Book of Boba Fett, which was a mess.)

The only theme that still moves me is Voyager's, probably because that's the series my son, my husband and I watched together.

Voyager sounds to me like ... like there really wants to be a really, really strong theme in there but the Corporate Blandness Committee grabbed it and stomped it into the ground.

What I want to know is, in the TNG theme, are the "swoosh" sounds of the Enterprise rushing the screen by the Series, Stewart and Frakes titles instrumental or added on top of the recorded orchestral performance

Also can we agree that the comet at the beginning of the DS9 sequence is the worst SFX of any show theme

I only watched the first couple-three episodes but, at the time, I thought that the best Star Trek theme music was one that didn't happen. My family and I believe that the theme music for Star Trek: Enterprise should have been Starsoul, by Urban Tapestry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRhaoJuf5Wk).
