A is not going to be here for Thanksgiving, so E said she wouldn't either, and when I asked Jenn what she wanted she started to cry. And then when I asked her again she started to cry again and said she couldn't talk about it, so I said "Cool, I guess that's that" and planned on, like, grilled cheese or something. (Except my neighbor down the block asked me to her house, which would be great except she's a heavy smoker so no way. I didn't say that, I just said I'd think about it.)

And now it turns out that E wasn't ever going to leave for Thanksgiving after all, and Jenn is like "Wait, you weren't going to feed me!?" so... I guess we're doing this?

I wonder if Stop and Shop will deliver tomorrow if I ask them really nicely....

I would just still have grilled cheese. If they aren't going to be considerate to you, why bend over backwards for them?

Jenn was having feelings because of our mom, and I while E is now saying that she was joking about going to her girlfriend's house I don't actually know if I believe that.

Anyway, I don't really like grilled cheese that much.

But I'm sure not making them a duck! They can have chicken, and they will like it.

is there a reason Jenn and E cannot feed themselves - and maybe you?

at this point, I'd opt for grilled cheese & soup for all, unless you have a feast in the freezer

There is a reason E is not going to cook for her or anybody else.

As for Jenn, if I really was complaining I would've locked this post and, yes, refused to cook for them. I'm just whining for fun, not for seriousness.

It sounds like you were planning to feed her, just not a stereotypical Thanksgiving meal.

On the other hand, we were going to have roast chicken tomorrow until cattitude saw a suck in the supermarket's meat section (a turkey is A Lot for three middle-aged people).

sorry I misread the complaining for fun. but soup & grilled cheese still sounds like a reasonable meal to me :)
