conulyMany times in my life I've advised people to read Shock Tactics by Saki and apply it to their own lives. This isn't my favorite Saki story, that's The Storyteller, but it's useful.
To my knowledge, nobody has ever taken me up on it, which is a pity. Maybe they think I'm joking, or they imagine that the part I mean they should do is the part with the letters instead of the part with the utterly unreasonable tantrums when dealing with utterly unreasonable people.
Oh well. Their loss.
