I was looking up how to repair the shower diverter, and hopefully all it needs is a good clean and not actual repair work, but anyway, there it was - somebody saying "spicket" where I'd say "faucet" or maybe "tap".

Google Ngrams says "spigot" is more common. "spicket" is barely above the x axis.

I *think* spigot is more common in the UK, so it would make sense that the Southern US would use a word derived from it. (My amateur understanding is the southern US is the closest to the way English was spoken/pronounced when English-speakers first got the the Americas.)
