To the Editor:

Having read " 'Excuse Me. May I Have Your Seat?', '' I can think of the subject of another badly needed study. The subject is, "Why do psychologists and reporters feel that they have the right to be rude and intrusive to the general public?"

The general public was not very upset by this, I'm sure, and no doubt learned something valuable (for example, that simply asking for a seat, no reason, works as well as rapidly declining Latin nouns).

This was worth an angry letter?

Perhaps the writer of the letter is disgusted at bumping into people when he or she has to stand on the subway. They all have cooties, you know.

I'd bet people say some interesting things about the writer when they won't be overheard...
