Connie,
Your translation was fine but how about the second assignment: Write a paragraph
comparing the styles of Cicero's exordium and letter. Give at least two Latin
examples

1. How did I miss that?
2. WTF? How am I supposed to do that, exactly?

I'm not seeing any huge glaring differences... *goes to see what everybody else said*

Um um um... the first is just one very very very long sentence, while the second consists of several not quite as long sentences?
I have no idea.

I don't know any latin beyond cave canem, carpe diem and tempus fugit and the latin for a bunch of animals/birds/flowers, but would the fact that that's a list of three (used as a persuasive technique in English, at least) count for anything? Since you don't even get one repetition like that in the first one?

If this was German, French or Spanish I could be more help. Sorry.

Comes up again at the end with the plena blabla.

And tibi, whee, word I recognise!

I'm afraid that's about as much help as I can be though. Should have posted Finnish passages ;0)
