I do have a slightly non-solemn question to ask:
Firefighters covered their small bodies with bright blue blankets. A group of firefighters formed a circle, wiping away tears. One woman sobbed as she rocked back and forth near one of the bodies.
When did a tragic news event become a chance to practice descriptive writing skills? This isn't a piece of literature here.

Date: 2004-09-06 08:11 pm (UTC)And if it's true, why not write it? Does it improve the article to leave out the woman sobbing and rocking herself back and forth? I think it makes it a little more real. It's poignant, so maybe it'll catch in someone's memory, and that way someone will always remember the ones who died.
