This sort of thing happens pretty often, though it could be worse. I used to regularly slice my fingers when chopping veggies and now it hardly ever gets that bad. Just nails.

At least it was a nail that you chopped off, rather than part of a finger. Fingers are rude in their not growing back, as nails do.
