I also hate having my hair cut.

It's a dilemma I solve most years by going as long as possible until I can't stand it anymore, fussing for a while that I need to have my hair cut, then grabbing a pair of scissors and a pair of hands and insisting they cut it as *short* as possible so as to maximize the time between cuts. (Consequently there are a few weeks where my hair looks a bit stupid, but it's worth it.)

Usually I have my mother cut it, but this time I reached "fed up" in the middle of watching TV with Jenn and Eva and had Jenn cut it.

And my mother was surprisingly upset. "You're preparing to live without me!" in that "not quite joking way" and... I mean... I would not have actually put it that way but I guess so? She's in her 70s, I doubt she'll outlive me, so... yeah?

Sigh. There's a strip in the back of my hair where it grows down my neck but not actually on my spine, just ever so slightly to the left of my spine and it drives me absolutely batty after my hair is cut. There's no way to deal with it until the hair grows out over it a bit. Even shaving only works for a little while.

Oh dear...

I don't like haordressers so my hair is very very long.

My hair is wavy, which drives me batty (be curly or be straight! Pick one!). In humid weather it curls and touches me. So I straighten it. And in weather like we've been having lately, I pin or clip it up, which gets it off my neck. I've tried going short...after the first week or so, I hate it.

Oh gosh yes. Hate feeling hair on my face or neck. I've approached the problem by keeping it long and always pulled back. But hair being hair, it's constantly escaping. *sigh*

When I finally got a professional haircut again at the end of May, it felt SO GOOD to have the back of my neck shaved with a straight razor. My hairline goes really low, and my clippers always left fuzz.

I hate when hair gets in my face/eyes,

so I keep it short enough that I get "sirred" a lot

it's not for gender expression reasons [my ideal gender expression is long hair down past my bra strap]

but because hair in my face ITCHES and makes my various chronic skin issues worse [traps sweat/oils/moisture]

during COVID I've been cutting my hair at home by myself

results have been variable
