It's not just flamingos, ducks, geese and swans that stand on one leg -- I think most birds do. My conure stands on one leg all the time when she's resting on a perch. I see wild birds do the same on branches, etc.

My zebra finches did it too. I always thought it had to do with staying warm.

I don't think I would enjoy that either: delving into the Doylesian questions about the choices the showrunners made. Not on first viewing. That would make it feel too much like a school assignment. First viewing should be an immersive experience: Watsonian considerations only.

On later viewings, though, all modes of discussion are welcome!
