Interesting. You can see a Flemish/Dutch influence on the language (which is inevitable I guess) but it's still recognisably a French derivative.
I didn't know (until this week) that your heritage was Walloon-Belgian, I thought Flemish-Belgian for some reason. Maybe from when you were talking about doing a university exchange...
