Not to worry, though, I'm sure she isn't affecting any crucial supply lines. You see, while normal people might stock up on (or hoard, even) pasta and toilet paper, rice and beans, chicken soup and crackers and cookies, my mother is buying out the nation's supplies of halvah, marzipan, licorice, and lox. At least that all keeps well. (And it could be worse - she could be buying yarn! Actually, if you told me that yarn was all sold out for the duration, I'd believe it. It probably is.)
