Eva's school confirms that they're working on making distance learning options as rapidly as possible and that students won't be penalized for non-attendance. Ana's school is much the same, but they also include a list of local food banks.

I walked the dogs and saw a lot of kids out with their parents and... if you're going to keep your kids home from school due to fear of infection but then take them with you to the grocery store, you've accomplished approximately nothing. (Especially if your mask doesn't cover your nose wtf.) If you need groceries, and your kids are big enough to watch themselves, why not let them do that?

Unrelatedly, I do not know why anybody would pay $.10 to put two packages of toilet paper into two paper bags without handles only to carry them home under the arms, just as though they weren't bagged at all.

Because toilet paper is embarrassing. Because bags are useful. Because it works for them.

Bags are useful to have at home, I meant.

Paper bags are what we have to put paper recycling in, yeah. (And plastic bags hold used kitty litter, or else they go back to the store for recycling.)

The schools here are providing breakfast and lunch to go for those that need something. I do think the frenzy’s in the supermarkets are a huge problem. Talk about spreading infection easier...

Yeah, I noticed a lot of parents were out playing with kids today on the way home from work. They are complaining about school not being closed, meanwhile doing all the social interaction that is well just as dangerous.

The mask doesn't protect you by the way, it really only protects people from getting what you have. This has been repeated over and over and over again by my company's Safety Specialists, mainly to reassure everyone who can't find masks. Because everyone bought them and sent them to China.

Exactly. Although the people I've seen with it haven't done that. But having tried to wear a mask about five years back -- it's uncomfortable and hard.

It is incredible what people will buy a bag for. We have had the charges for a decade and the only times people seem to realise that they really don't need one is when we run out of 5p or 10pp bags and have to say 'I only have £1' bags, at which point people suddenly realise their handbag works and/or their arms can cross a carpark with three items just fine.
