and I suddenly realized that the same actor who played Morgana is also the one who plays Lena Luthor on Supergirl.

I now find myself even more upset by Morgana's descent into weird solo smirking in the later seasons. Katie McGrath deserved better writing than that.

Katie McGrath is generally underutilized wherever she has a role.

It's positively criminal. She's clearly capable of the work, so why not give it to her?

You mean, cast her outside a specific role? Maybe even make her into a lead? Why would they want to do that? There's still plenty of pretty blondes to do all of that.

Ugh yeah. I still have so much rage about how the writing on Merlin deteriorated. Like, I'm fine with Morgana becoming evil but then they literally just SKIP the most interesting part of her character journey! But still, with her performance, you can infer a lot of things that they were too lazy to film or write.
