Pigeons could be losing their toes because of human hair

I did not know this was a new hypothesis. Given that you can obviously see pigeons flying around with string and hair strangling their toes, and that eventually you see the same pigeons without their toes, I just assumed it was settled science and have been giving that as an explanation to people for years.

That's sad. Poor feral babies. (Pigeons were domesticated but once cities changed, people started having no places to keep their coveys and it's caused problems since.)

It wouldn't be so hard for them if humans didn't litter so much.
