If the world had ended mere days before my 7-month birthday, I wouldn't be around to care now, so I'm rejecting that as a possibility from the start.

As far as Hitler goes, was him invading the US ever an actual possibility? This is the dude who thought he could do what Napoleon had failed to do and take Russia in the middle of winter without adequate equipment.
