We have mice. Or at least mouse. I'm guessing it (they?) came in through the attic, there's a gap wherever the roof meets the floor.

So this week I'll pick up a cat, it doesn't have to be a mouser, we just need "cat smell" in the house (not that sort of cat smell, the sort that's friendly and strikes terror into small rodents of the wild persuasion) and tomorrow this house is getting scrubbed. Yay. Anybody have a cat? Kitten?

Lots. Unfortunately, I think you're too far off.

It might not work, though... We had mice here a few years ago when my ex lived with me, and you'd think that my house would be the *last* place a mouse would ever visit!

Jax caught one, in fact, and dropped it in my lap perfectly unharmed/alive as if it were a toy I'd throw for him. *snicker* I thought it was one until it moved, at which point I let out quite a startled yelp, knocking it to the floor. Jax grabbed it again, stared at me like I had no brain, and that time put it carefully on the nearby futon-couch where it couldn't get away. (I then caught it in a garbage can and put it outside far from the house... We haven't had one since that I'm aware of.)

You could also volunteer at the local animal shelter to brush the kitties, and take the hair from the brush and distribute it strategically. A couple of nice long haired cats, and you'd have enough fur to knit a sweater, and lots of kitty odors.

I'd go once a month to replenish the hair/odors.

meh! I used to work at a kennels where there were westies and collies. A woman contacted the kennels and asked the owners to save the collie fur from when they get brushed (which was quite a bit as they were show dogs) and she'd pick it up when it got to be a garbage-can full, then make sweaters out of it. O_o

And someone just asked about what to do about mice in "hip_domestics" here: http://www.livejournal.com/community/hip_domestics/1291110.html so maybe that might help! :)

Ever read the classic comic, "Maus"?

In case you're inclined to ask me how that's relevant here...don't. I wouldn't presume to know.

[end trivial silliness]

:-p
