Today, randomly, I sneezed a whole lot. Yesterday it was watery eyes, the day before that it was watery eyes, today - sneezing. Why would my body do this to me!?

Date: 2019-05-26 09:09 pm (UTC)If you have been taking antihistamines for a while, it is a good idea to switch them up. I.e., if you've been on Claritin/equivalent in the past, try Allegra/equivalent. Apparently we develop tolerances and they become less effective.

All that mucus, watery eyes, coughing, sneezing and snarfling, are caused by a histamine reaction (https://www.webmd.com/allergies/what-are-histamines#1), the function of which is to flush allergens and other irritants out of your respiratory system. If you're having more allergy symptoms than usual, it's probably because you've been exposed to a heavier allergen load than usual: happy Springtime, season of plant sex.
