This ranges from annoying to outright uncomfortable, but it's fixed with a combination of periodic flushing of the eyes with water, eyedrops, and allergy pills.

Today, randomly, I sneezed a whole lot. Yesterday it was watery eyes, the day before that it was watery eyes, today - sneezing. Why would my body do this to me!?

Hives, yikes!! Zyrtec is very effective but, anecdotally, it seems to affect people in a lot of weird ways. Zaditor eyedrops are better, IMO, less of a hammer than Zyrtec...

If you have been taking antihistamines for a while, it is a good idea to switch them up. I.e., if you've been on Claritin/equivalent in the past, try Allegra/equivalent. Apparently we develop tolerances and they become less effective.

My allergies got so bad (noticeably worse this year somehow) that I stumbled into a dollar store and just grabbed what turned out to be generic flonase. and my goodness. a revelation. it works So Well that I'm immediately suspicious but even my plan to get lasik is off the table. apparently my irritation with contacts was just itchy eyes.

"Why would my body do this to me!?"

It's trying to protect you. All that mucus, watery eyes, coughing, sneezing and snarfling, are caused by a histamine reaction (https://www.webmd.com/allergies/what-are-histamines#1), the function of which is to flush allergens and other irritants out of your respiratory system. If you're having more allergy symptoms than usual, it's probably because you've been exposed to a heavier allergen load than usual: happy Springtime, season of plant sex.

What makes you think so? How would you know if they do or don't? Mine certainly does, despite my taking Claritin every day - it's not something the whole world knows about me, because until now I've never had any cause to mention it, but I see no reason to assume it's uncommon.
