Mostly Jenn's game because I'm scared of Guardians. And Lynels. Spent a good portion of today running around parts of Hyrule she hadn't fully explored finding Koroks for her and taking pictures of all sorts of things to go into the Compendium. (I could tell she hadn't fully explored them because there were pretty much no Korok symbols on her map in those areas.) Bumped into some Bokoblins on bears. You stasis the Bokos, get them off the bears, but are the bears grateful for the rescue? No, of course not, they run up and attack you anyway!

They're 30 for 10 and I'm a cheapo though... Seriously, I try to time bombs to get meat because it's less resource waste that way.

Okay, to be fair, I could go hang out in Zora Valley every blood moon and rob lizard people of every single shaft they have, but I still burn through so many of them already beating up Hinoxes since I still haven't gotten the timing figured out for them. I feel happy just getting to 100 half the time.

My sister emailed this comment to me, though if she'd just posted it here I could've unscreened it for her:

"You don’t need arrows for Hinoxes! Just one to wake them up and maybe one to set fire to their leg armor. Then run in under them and hack at their legs with a high power weapon. Ten seconds later, no more Hinox (exception I think for Stalnox where you must obliterate the eye, but not sure if getting the legs earlier is good on them). "

I quite agree. Run under a Hinox, smash it several times with a great thunderblade and when that gets old with a great flameblad and then they'll keel over after, like, two minutes without getting in a single hit. This works best if you're wearing your barbarian armor.

I'm still figuring out the rhythm for attacking Hinoxes directly. The shield button tends to not work well with the "run underneath them like a mouse" option half the time so I have this nasty tendency to get butt pounded or slammed because their bellies get in the way of my run. Spears tend to be the only thing that gives me consistent damage and they aren't big on the damage, sadly.

Stand at their toe, keep jabbing and don't let them move. Thunderblades are great for this, they're not shock resistant at all.

Ha, that tended to get me stepped on. I'm learning the pattern, as said and I'm not deep enough in the game to find a reliable thunderblade respawn. No worries all the same.
