I remember the airport scene in Cool Running when the Jamaicans arrive in Canada. Yeah, makes me glad to live in the SW and remember when it hit -19f and be thankful there was no wind behind it.

*sigh* Send all that white stuff West to us, eh? It hasn't snowed once all winter at my house, and not nearly enough up on the mountains. It's going to be a dry summer, probably with the air choked with wildfire smoke again - I'd take blizzards over fire every time.

I was a student in Columbus for the Blizzard of '78 (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Blizzard_of_1978), which was pretty amazing. It was so cold, and the wind was so strong, and the shut-down, buried-in-snowdrift city was so silent, that I could hear the high, high chime of the ice-crystals like faerie bells on the wind. I nearly froze my ears off listening to it.
