I'm Eastern Orthodox, and our lead-up to Christmas starts on November 15th. But also, our lead-up to Christmas features fasting and repentance, not feasting and celebration - that starts with Christmas. It meshes weirdly with Western Christmas celebrations, whether secular or Christian, where the celebration leads up to the holiday and barely continues past it.
