Oh, that's rich. Really. I happen to agree, which is scary, but he thinks he has any place to talk about people getting through college based on Mommy and Daddy's alumnus status? Riiiiight.
*eyeroll* Someone's a bit hypocritical. First time I've ever agreed with him, though; then again I have strong feelings regarding the college admissions process. Legacy scholarships are stupid, but so are those based on race. Colleges go on and on about diversity and I agree that it's important but if it means they are going to favoring one race over another, then it comes down to racism, plain and simple. But I'll get off of my soapbox now.
My college had a severe problem with the racial diversity, too. I mean, they prided themselves on having a diverse campus, which is great, sure.. but not when you have quotas of each race to fill! Not when you're disappointed in the new freshman class because they're too white. Not when you give much more financial aid to minorities just to draw them to your school--scholarships based on race I can understand, but the school itself offered benefits based on skin color, not grades.
See, I got on your soapbox. ^_^ *hands it to the next person if they need it*
