i figure it would be the plastic trays in security lines for the most viruses. because if i recall (haven't flown since 2010) you put your shoes in them & shoes go through all kinds of nasty stuff.

I can't understand how little coverage there has been here of the earthquake in Indonesia.

SERIOUSLY. I know we don't always take disasters in developing countries* seriously, especially when they're far away, but this isn't a minor incident.

* Indonesia is "developing", isn't it? That's my gut feeling, and may be other people's, so same diff, I guess.

Usually we find that particularly germy parts of modern life are either things that go near our mouths (phones), things that go near our hands (keyboards), or things that go near children (playground equipment) - especially if they aren't washed often. But shoes are also kinda gross.
