Two things.

First, Xiggy decided to clean the living room. Wow. We've got a floor. And a big blue chair.

Second, my contribution included finally cleaning this fucking keyboard. Man that was gross. Seriously, I cannot DESCRIBE what was under my spacebar. *shudders* I ended up prying off all the keys, washing them, washing the keyboard, and letting it all dry. It's still not as clean as I'd like, because I was unwilling to submerge it in soapy water. Still, the change is amazing. The keys are easily pressed down. The shift doesn't stick. It's quieter, for god's sake. I can barely hear it. Amazing.

Hmm. I've never pried the keys off of mine, but I have taken it apart so that all that was left was the keys, and took it and srubbed it with hot soapy water. Then put it back together. In fact, it's due time I do that again. I've used this thing so much, the "k," "l," "n," and "m" letter are wearing off the keys.

I really need to clean ours. My brother pried of the spacebar of a keyboard a while back and it never worked again, hence my hesitance.

Is it a lobtop keyboard? Or a regular desktop model? And the keys all work still? I need more information so I can do it myself...

It's a desktop model. And all the keys DO work - the spacebar is a tricky one, though, because it's got extra parts under the key. Most keys don't. You need to make sure the "hinge" under the spacebar stays put.

Also, I doubt my method is the best method of keyboard cleaning. I wouldn't've used it, but it'd been over a year since we got the thing, and it was used.
