And is it just me? I can't respond on any webpage that has Disqus, instead I have to find the Disqus version of that comments page and respond there. Which is annoying. So mostly I don't.

(Also, Patheos is also b0rked in different ways, and since Patheos blogs use Disqus and I comment frequently at a few of them that means trying to a. read them and then b. respond to them has been a total disaster lately.)

That trypophobia article is bizarre. Someone took a flying leap to conclusions without realizing that the "phobia" category includes irrational/pathological disgust, not just irrational/pathological fear. I hope they didn't get paid for that.

The thing that struck me about the 'hippies in paradise' is that they were mostly guys. Women don't stay long even when they do show up. It's really just another 'boys club' in the jungle.

IME, Chrome + Disqus fight. For a while it simply didn't work at all, which while irritating, did stop me from reading the comments on most things, so it was a mixed blessing. The mobile version isn't as bad, but my laptop still doesn't love it.

I follow too many archeology blogs to be surprised about Africans in Tudor England but I have to pick up the Black Tudors book anyway, it seems like it'd be really interesting, and frankly I get tired of hearing about slavery and oppression all the damn time; it's nice to get some history pre-dating that.

The twins are adorable.

I admit that I don't drink green tea+lemon+honey because I expect it to cure anything, I drink it because it's comforting and it's one of the few things I can still taste on the rare occasion I have a cold! =p

I'm very hipster about my conspiracy theorist and Dominionist Christian antipathy; I got raised by that ish, I hated it and had internal red flags for their ever-shifting fandom jargon before anyone else knew to take it seriously ;)
I really wish I'd been wrong about how much of a problem they'd be, though.

I want to read the trypophobia article, but also I have trypophobia and I'm afraid to click on the link so this is a conundrum.

all that story about the twins says to me is looks are more important than abilities.
I know they brought up the idea of House having Asperger's on the show and then dismissed it immediately but I still think he has it, and not just because I have it and I identify with him.

I mean I am tired of a society where what you look like is considered more important than what you do.

There is a picture of bees on a honeycomb, if that helps you decide. It's at the top of the article, and I didn't see any other pictures in the article.

OK, let me clarify a bit more. I am disabled and an activist for disabled rights. Any form of discrimination angers me.
that being said, I fail to see why anyone would have a problem with them being deaf.
More and more intelligent, enlightened people are becoming aware that discrimination against disability, race etc. is wrong.
But I see no sign of discrimination about looks going away or even becoming less. And I often feel like I'm the only person who cares about that.

That does help, thank you! I'm usually okay with honeycombs, so long as they are fairly light and not too zoomed in. :D
