But I seem to have put too much sugar in my tea.

* Really. My normal approach can be jocularly summed up as "sugar with a little bit of tea mixed in"!

I like a bit of sweetness in my tea, but I don't like sugar. I put a dollop of honey in.

I love honey! But only in herbal teas. It just... doesn't work in lipton and the like, for me.

Another person who puts lots of sugar into their hot beverages. For coffee especially, it's more a coffee-flavored beverage. Mmmm, sweet, hot, tea.

Also, replacing SNAP benefits with food offerings is a terrible idea in so many ways. O.M.G. Someone has no idea about logistics of food distribution, which is ironic to say the least. And adding waste FFS.

It still annoys me to think that even Newark and a few parts of NYC's still got indecent amounts of lead in their water.

What I'd give for Trump properties to be found with glaring amounts of lead in their pipes. Maybe the president would actually care then.

        Sony’s hulking 40-inch Trinitron from 2002,
one of the biggest consumer CRTs ever produced,
        weighed over 300 pounds.

I lived at one point in an apartment that had what I called a “lunar landing TV” - it was a vacuum-tube cabinet monster that de facto came with the apartment because it couldn’t be moved by anything short of construction equipment!  It did everything but work; I recognized that at least one of the tubes had gassed.  In theory I could have fixed it.  (Vacuum tubes are still being made!  Their biggest consumer is the US military, because electromagnetic pulse (EMP) that would fry solid-state microchips wouldn’t even get a De Forest valve’s attention.)

My gut reaction to the idea of replacing SNAP benefits is general flailing about food restrictions. The sodium and iodine content in canned foods alone is horrific! What of peanut allergies, or individuals who suffer from Celiac's? Would seasonings and spices even be acknowledged under such a ridiculous plan, or would people be expected to live off of the blandest dregs available?

My second thoughts were about which companies would have to be heavily subsidized just to cover the plan. I imagine buying in bulk to that extent requires pre-ordering. I don't see this would help keep costs down.

But it would funnel them to cronies!

Probably the guy who proposed it saw the holiday "Thanksgiving Dinner in a Box" stuff that some supermarkets do in conjunction with a local food bank, and thought it was a greeeeeat idea. O:p

HA! The SNAP story connects to the Venezuela one with their CLAP boxes of govt food assistance that are only distributed in neighborhoods that are govt supporters (for a small(HUGE) fee!)

As with many debates in the gaming world, there’s disagreement over whether new TVs are truly unusable. Not everyone believes the lag is bad enough to justify keeping an old CRT around, especially as flat-panel displays have gotten more responsive.

I still have an old Wii, and still occasionally play a side game in one of Nintendo's omnibus titles. I don't play nearly as much as I used to, though. Can't make it to the same top scores.

Lag. I dropped me to a high of 58K to a high of 43K. No point in practicing; I just play for grins very, very seldom now.

That was an eye opener.
