A clear cut question about gluten/casein sensitivity leads to this:

the child's gut develops lots of holes, becomes "leaky," due to lots of factors, like overuse of antibiotics or viral innocculations, overgrowth of yeast and bad bacteria in the intestines, etc. when this happens, the proteins in these foods don't get broken down, but rather they pass through the holes, into the bloodstream, reacting with the body's morphine receptors. this causes an effect similar to that of an opioid. so, the kid eventually ends up all whacked out on food. i remember when we went scd with the girls i work with and a lot of the grains they were eating (rice, soy, corn, etc.) were reacting with their systems similarly. it was definitely like watching someone go through withdrawl, but the end results are pretty amazing (at least in the girls' cases. everyone is different).

The child this, the child that, because adults just don't exist. Or don't get allergies. Or something. That and the severe lack of capitalization and I'm about to scream.

Next post:

Gut bugs? GUT BUGS? Are you an adult, or a toddler? You can type, but you clearly can't speak rationally. Gut bugs. *rolls her eyes*

And finally:

I recognize that it was a bad relationship for her... but please. Her exboyfriend is not diseased. (No matter what your view on autism (evil menace to society, pitiful children abounding, or mere difference in brain structure), it is nowhere classified as a disease.) And when he did things that upset her (and she recognizes that they weren't intended that way), it's not because teh evil!!!111 made him do it, it's because either 1. that's a normal way of doing things eius, 2. he didn't know any better or 3. both of the above. Or 4, he's really just a callous bastard. I don't know, never met the guy. Considering the havoc she wreaked when she first posted about him (one of the few times I read the comm, and I caught that), you'd've thought she'd at least choose her words more carefully.

I was tempted to reply to that last one with something along the lines of "what about those of us who are ourselves having to live with autism?", but thought better of it...

In that I didn't exactly want to be potential fodder for a flamewar. Heh.
