Dec. 9th, 2017 05:10 pmTook a shower for the first time in too long.
I feel so clean.
(Also, even beforehand, all the dishes were washed. When you have to boil the water yourself, you don't stop at "just enough". So I'm clean and I don't have dishes to do. Win!)

I remember the year when we suffered through a stretch of time that featured a dead dishwasher, a dead hot-water heater, and a flat exchequer all at once. Once they were fixed, just sitting and listening to the dishwasher run through its cycle was pure bliss.

Date: 2017-12-07 06:24 am (UTC)While we had plumbers in the house, we also got confirmation on the probable cost of replacing all our leaky heating pipes: at least 4k, more if we get the furnace at the same time.
Sigh. Nothing we didn't expect, but it's actually less than I guessed.
